How to prepare an aluminium and glass quotation request

To request an aluminium or glass quotation, send your site location, drawings or photographs, approximate dimensions, preferred system and finish, and target schedule. State whether the scope includes fabrication, delivery, installation and removal of existing work. Clear requirements make quotations easier to compare and help identify missing details early.
What to send with your enquiry
- Location and building use. Identify the city and whether the work is for a villa, commercial building, shopfront or another space. Include the floor level and access restrictions.
- Drawings, photographs and quantities. Send elevations or a marked-up plan where available. Label each opening with an approximate width, height and quantity; state the measurement units.
- System and operation. Explain whether you need windows, doors, a curtain wall, balustrades, a skylight or another system. Describe fixed, sliding, folding or hinged operation where relevant.
- Glass and appearance. Share requirements for privacy, appearance, shading and acoustic or thermal performance. Include any consultant specification instead of assuming all glass combinations perform alike.
- Finish and hardware. Provide a colour reference, preferred finish and any handle, lock or automation requirements. Photographs can clarify the desired appearance.
- Installation scope and schedule. Explain site readiness, target dates and whether removal, making good, access equipment or coordination with other trades is required.
Compare scope before comparing totals
A lower total may cover a different system or exclude part of the installation. Ask for written clarification of the following items.
